Rhythm Core Values: Product First

PRODUCT FIRST — This blog is part of a series where we do a deep dive into Rhythm’s core values and guiding principles. Our core values are an intentional declaration of what we believe, how we make decisions, and how we move our organization forward with alignment.

When we founded Rhythm, we looked at which factors contributed to a high level of dissatisfaction between associations and their technology partners. We discovered that a lot of AMS providers relied on custom programming to make their system meet the customer’s needs, and while that seemed like a good idea initially, it didn’t lead to long-term satisfaction.

So, we asked ourselves if there was a more helpful, effective approach we could implement at Rhythm. We needed a different way to deal with the invariable idiosyncrasies and unique processes that every association has, without relying on customizations that made customers feel like they were being nickeled and dimed for basic functionality.

That’s where Product First as a core value originated. Instead of relying on pricey customizations, we resolved that if an association needed something in the product, it should probably be there for everyone.

“When one customer recommends an enhancement or a brand new feature, we have a dedicated system in place that allows us to bring that idea to life. With tools that allow customers to rank new requests, our team is able to determine which ones are most needed and prioritize accordingly.” — Patrick O’Toole, Product Specialist

A Product First mindset is our commitment to innovation. It’s our declaration that we’re not going to build in a one-off way, we’re going to build out robust functionality that can service associations and all their complex, nuanced requirements. Rhythm’s high-quality tech stack allows rapid, reliable innovation and releases so that customers can focus on giving their members the best experience possible.
